Project Overview

The Government of Tanzania planned the construction of 87.8 MW Kakono Hydropower Project in Kagera Region with the target to supply electric power from Kakono hydropower plant to the national grid and thereby provide stability of power supply in the North West Grid and ensure stable supply of power in the Victoria Lake zone and the nearby countries through Eastern Africa Power Pool (EAPP).
